Bethesda, MD – Date: September 21, 2022 – Panum announced it has been awarded a contract to support USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) with staff support services for SNAP Education (SNAP-Ed) Connection.

Panum’s Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will help SNAP-Ed develop, maintain, and update SNAP-Ed Connection Resource System Website, an online education, training, and resource center for staff serving the SNAP-Ed population. Panum SMEs will also help SNAP-Ed perform digital communications, educational outreach, search, and review of nutrition education-related literature and data sources, and provide SNAP-Ed technical assistance in the form of webinars, training, and meetings. In addition, Panum SMEs will coordinate and collaborate with other FNS contractors to enhance the experience of the SNAP-Ed Connection users.

SNAP-Ed plays an important role in supporting FNS’s mission to increase food security and reduce hunger by providing children and low-income people access to food, a healthful diet, and nutrition education. SNAP-Ed supports this mission through the SNAP-Ed Connection, by providing online resources and reference services to state and local SNAP-Ed providers and administrators and providing basic nutrition information for low-income audiences.
