Panum Wins Contract to Provide FOIA and RM Support for USDA
Bethesda, MD — November 4rd, 2020 — Panum Group, LLC (Panum) announced it has been awarded a five-year single-award Blanket Purchase Agreement to support the USDA Departmental FOIA Office (DFO) in its effort to continue providing exceptional FOIA and Records Management (RM) support to the agency. Panum’s team of proven Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will provide thought leadership and legal experience in responding to complex, large-scale FOIA requests.
Panum will also provide subject matter expertise to aid USDA DFO in its mission to consolidate and modernize agencywide FOIA and RM efforts in accordance with the National Archives and Records Administration’s (NARA) Federal Electronic Records Modernization Initiative (FERMI). Panum’s support will continue as the DFO becomes an increasingly consolidated hub for USDA FOIA requests.
Additionally, Panum will apply ISO-9001:2015 certified quality control processes to ensure that we deliver the reliability, stability, and continuity USDA requires to enhance operational and mission effectiveness and meet 100 percent quality levels in all areas of the contract.
Another key to Panum’s success on this contract is our SMEs’ ability to apply and integrate multiple legislative requirements in addition to FOIA, such as the Privacy Act (PA), the OPEN Government Act, the Federal Records Act, and other relevant statutes. This results in a comprehensive approach to processing USDA records, resulting in fewer FOIA appeals and lawsuits for our customer.
Panum’s Vice President Mr. Syed Jaffery, said: “Panum has provided FOIA support to USDA since 2009, and we are excited to extend this long-term relationship into the future. Panum experts possess critical expertise supporting USDA and navigating the often complex FOIA and RM processes.”
Panum provides unique expertise and innovative solutions that address our customers’ greatest business and mission challenges. “Through its innovation lab, Panum is bringing machine learning into its FOIA support by experimenting with the use of Natural Language processing technology in searching, redacting, and responding to FOIA requests. We hope to demonstrate to our customers that the use of cutting-edge technology will allow for expedient FOIA response, cost savings, and higher productivity in their mission support. Our culture of excellence through innovation and problem-solving drives our success,” said Panum’s President Mr. Vijay Mishra.
